Three tools in one: find what X% of a number is, calculate what percent X is of Y, and compute percentage change between two values.
Result
30
15% of 200 = 30
Formula: 200 × 15 ÷ 100 = 30
X% of a number
Result = (X ÷ 100) × Number
15% of 200 = (15 ÷ 100) × 200 = 30
X is what % of Y
Result = (X ÷ Y) × 100
45 is what % of 180 = (45 ÷ 180) × 100 = 25%
Percentage change
Result = (New − Old) ÷ |Old| × 100
Change from $80 to $100 = (100 − 80) ÷ 80 × 100 = +25%
Multiply the number by X and divide by 100. Example: 15% of 200 = 200 × 15 ÷ 100 = 30. Equivalently, convert to a decimal (15% = 0.15) and multiply: 200 × 0.15 = 30.
